Use TypeScript instead of JavaScript for the scripts inside lib

JavaScript files in lib/*/scripts/ lack type safety and modern module syntax. Should the project migrate these scripts to TypeScript before they grow in complexity?

Chosen option: "Migrate to TypeScript", because it adds type checking with zero runtime cost (esbuild strips types at bundle time). Positive consequences: better editor support, catches import/type errors early, enables modern import/export syntax. Negative consequences: requires a tsconfig for the bundler, minor tooling overhead.
